The FPOABC held its first Public Education Symposium for fire and life safety educators and fire prevention officers with a session in Langley on November 13th and again in Kelowna on November 14th.
Two key speakers pictured above presented at both sessions:
From the Public Education Division of NFPA, Karen Berard-Reed, Senior Project Manager and from First Alert/BRK, Jim Rotz, President-Jarden Branded Consumables Canada.
In addition, each session had speakers who were specialists in autism education.
We were very pleased to see participants attend the Lower Mainland session from Vancouver Island and as far away as Prince George. Kelowna had attendees from Kamloops, Grand Forks and throughout the Okanagan Valley.
Immediate feedback was extremely positive. A formal evaluation will be going out to participants very shortly.
Thank you to Township of Langley Fire Department and Kelowna Fire Department for hosting this worthwhile event.
