2016 Public Education Symposium III

The FPOABC held its third Public Education Symposium for fire and life safety educators and fire prevention officers with a sessions in Nanaimo, Township of Langley and Kelowna on November 1, 2 and 3, 2016

In 2016 the topics included:

FireSmart-In Your Neighbourhood with Jeff Eustache, FireSmart Provincial Representative for BC; Forest Fuel Management Program Manager with First Nations Emergency Services.

Autism Awareness Training for First Responders - Train the Trainer with Ben Wilson, District of North Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services and Ryan Yao, Canucks Autism Network.

Too Hot For Tots: An Overview of the Program with Frances McDougall, BC Children's Hospital and Stephanie Mosher, BCPFF Burn Fund.

Nanaimo had an additional topic:  Nanaimo Area Working Group on Hoarding: An Integrated Community Approach with Andrea Hunger - RN, BSN, BA - Island Health.

The FPOABC would like to thank the speakers for taking the time to speak at the symposium.  We were very pleased to add the 3rd location this year on Vancouver Island.  Once again, the feedback was extremely positive.
